Contract checklist before you sign
Rank, wage, overtime, allotment, duration, and which POEA/DMW contract applies. Read it before you are at the airport.

Record a 3–5 minute clip on your phone when you have signal. Upload to YouTube and we will embed it here. Script is below.
Confirm the licensed manning agency name matches the people you are talking to. Maritime Match will never sign a contract for you and never collects a seafarer placement fee.
Check rank, vessel type, basic wage, overtime, leave pay, contract length, and joining date. If salary was discussed as “about” a number, get the number on paper.
Ask how allotment is paid to family, and which deductions are standard. Unclear deductions are how arguments start after you are already at sea.
If anything is rushed — “sign now or lose the berth” — slow down. A real vacancy can wait for you to read one document.
Phone-video script for the Captain
Hold a printed contract (or a mock). Tick: rank, basic wage, overtime, leave pay, duration, joining port, and the licensed agency name.
