I built Maritime Match because the trouble in maritime recruitment is not a shortage of Filipino seafarers. It is position matchmaking: incomplete CVs, unstructured sea service, and hours wasted by both sides.
I still sail. I am a serving Captain. This platform is online-only on purpose. It is a talent discovery and job information site, not a manning agency. Licensed agencies hire. Seafarers never pay a placement fee here.
The core stays the same. Licensed agencies post a vacancy and get a curated ranked shortlist. Seafarers who mark themselves open for jobs get an automatic notification when they fit a vacancy. We do not recruit or place. No seafarer fees.
Besides that matching core I built free tools I would actually use onboard and ashore, the ones I wish were one tap away on watch:
Sea Tools: Sea Calculator (ETA, gyro, bunker, draft survey, currency, true wind, unit converter, FWA/DWA), Bulk Calculator, Grain Stability Check, ORB Entry Helper, Passage Planning and PSC Checklists. Most work offline, so they're there even without signal.
Promotion Reviewer: a competency reviewer that helps you gain the competence to take on your next rank onboard. Book-style definitions you can open between watches, not a school course.
Allotment Hub: for the money side of a seafarer's life. A Loan Calculator for Pag-IBIG, bank, SSS and car loans, a House Construction Tracker for the house you're building back home, plus MP2, PERA, Savings Goal and Family Protection calculators. It works in PHP or USD, and offline.
Captain's Brief: short, practical reads on seafarer rights and life at sea.
Cook Hub: Filipino galley menus, meal plans, and provisioning reference for the chief cook and galley team. Built for the mess, not for a food blog.
MedDeck: a quick medical reference and first-aid learning aid, based on recognised seafarer medical guides: emergency-first, symptom-first. Not a doctor and not TMAS; a first reference when you need one. Usable without connectivity once cached on your device.
Inspection Checklists: ready-made checklists to prepare for vetting, flag and company inspections, alongside the PSC Checklists.
Maritime Learning: short, practical lessons for every rank, found inside the Captain's Brief.
